More:
"In the past I thought about other clubs, but my agent and I decided that this is the best place for me to be. Not just the club; the players, the manager, the fans, everybody associated with United. I think I'm at the right club with the right people. I love playing for this club and I want to stay for many years.
"Will I change my game? No, never.
"My boss [Sir Alex Ferguson] has done a great job in trying to protect me and so have the players but I don't care what the opponents do, they will not stop me playing."
Not a one man team:
"Manchester is more than just Cristiano Ronaldo," he said. "You have Tevez and Rooney - great fantastic players. I have my skills but when you play for Manchester United; people look at you differently - they expect more."
European glory:
"What hurt so much last season was that when we lost in Milan, everybody knew that we were one step away from the final.
"It was very hard to lose like that but we have to learn something from this. We want to win the Premiership but for us this season the most important thing is the Champions League and to win it we have to be much more mature and determined. Everybody is ready for it now."
Role model: (careful)
"I try to tell Nani what he needs to do
"I've lived here for five years; I know the club and the mentality of the people. When you first come to a new club, you don't know anyone, you feel nervous and you wonder about the mentality of the dressing room. When I came here a lot of players helped me and I don't forget that.
"I've tried to help Nani and Anderson and tell them what they need to do. I know the mentality of the supporters, I know the football. New players don't know that.
"I remember when I arrived here, Giggsy, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville helped me a lot. Now I want to stay here and be part of history at this club."
