RIO TALKS IT UP

From The Sun:

Rio said: "Losing the title was bad enough but for Arsenal to clinch it at Old Trafford made it even harder for the lads to accept. That has given everyone an extra incentive to go out and win this one."

Ferdinand added: "Everyone's feeling great after our recent results, even those of us in the treatment room. That place has been far too busy for my liking and people cannot wait to get back and help out. There's been half a team in casualty with the likes of me, Roy Keane, David Beckham, Nicky Butt and Gary Neville. But the lads who've played have done superbly and the competition for places is stronger than ever. That keeps everyone on their toes. The fact we are still right in it in the League and Europe speaks volumes for the depth of talent we have."

Ferdinand could not bear to watch the recent games on the TV:

"I was flicking from channel to channel when we played Basel because I'm a hopeless watcher. I get really nervous. Then, against Liverpool, I couldn't switch the picture on until we were 1-0 up. It's daft really but that's how I am. I relaxed only when we got the second. I jumped off the settee when that one went in."

"You can't afford to drop a level against a team like Arsenal, especially with the form they're in now. If you do, you know the consequences."
