Ferdinands centre back partner Nemanja Vidic will miss the game on Sunday with a knee injury but he is expected to return for next weekends game against Blackburn Rovers.
"Vidic is doing very well," Ferguson has said.
"He's not available for Sunday but he should be back for Blackburn."
