REDS NOT THROUGH YET

From the MEN:

Van der Sar insists Manchester United will not hold back in Copenhagen next month, even though the Red Devils only need a point from their remaining three games to claim a place in the Champions League knock-out phase.

Yet, even though Van der Sar could be one of the obvious sacrifices as Ferguson looks to give second choice goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak some first-team experience, the giant Dutchman has warned Copenhagen not to expect an easier time in the re-match at the Parken Stadion early next month.

“We only need one point to qualify but we will not be going to Copenhagen just to get that point, that is for sure.

“We are playing well at the moment, so the only thing on our minds is winning games and there is no reason for that to change.

“They got back into the game a little bit and created two or three chances. But we scored at the right time, just before half-time, kept a clean sheet and got the result we were looking for. We are in a good position, now we just have to capitalise on it.”

Ronaldo:

“We created a few chances we should have taken but overall, the result spoke for itself. It means if we win the next game, we are into the second round, which is what we all wanted at the start of the season.

“We didn't do very well in the Champions League last year. We all remember that and we didn't want to suffer the same experience again.”
