Story here:
The Manchester United manager is furious at the Spanish giants' attempts to nick his star striker.
Sport of the World can reveal Real made contact with Nistelrooy's advisor Roger Linse and told him the Dutchman tops their summer shopping list.
Linse called Fergie immediately in a bid to broker a deal but the United boss reacted with fury to the attempted tap-up.
A Manchester United insider confirmed: "Linse rang Fergie and said he wanted to talk about a transfer for Ruud.
"And that was it — he got the full hairdryer treatment. Fergie told him in no uncertain terms he would not even talk about selling Ruud to Real or anyone.
"He said Ruud was the most popular player at the club, the most valuable player at the club — and there was no way he would be sold.
"He also said there was enough uncertainty and confusion at Old Trafford since the Glazer takeover and that the last thing United needed was more upheaval and unrest."
Now the thought of joining the Bernabeu "Galacticos" is an enticing prospect for the Dutchman, who wants to satisfy his lust for success on the field.
A possible solution could be found if Fergie's interest in Real's Michael Owen intensifies — which could lead to an exchange deal to satisfy all parties.
