SAF:
"It would have been a travesty if we had not won but we have Fabien Barthez to thank for the fact that we got there.
"Those saves woke us up a little bit and we had a bit of an edge after that.
"We should have won by a lot more but sometimes we tried to walk the ball into the net, sometimes we were wasteful and sometimes we were unlucky.
"Paul Scholes could have scored five on his own and Rio Ferdinand missed a few chances as well.
"But once we got the second all we had to do was make sure we didn't do anything stupid."
Steve Bruce:
"When Manchester United have their big aircraft flying they are a wonderful team," said Bruce.
"They are going to be a match for anyone in the Premiership or the Champions League.
"We have to be brutally honest and admit the bounce of the ball went for us at times and Nico Vaesen made a couple of really good saves.
"Last year we were in the Nationwide League and it is a big step from the type of talent Manchester United possess.
"Having said that, Fabien Barthez pulled off two magnificent saves. Our guys believe one of them was genuine world class.
"We can feel harshly done by but it is typical of what happens to teams when they come here."
