POLICE BUREAUCRACY SET TO RUIN CHARITY DAY

Police have bizarrely insisted that Saturday's charity match between FC United and AFC Telford must be all ticket, with none to be sold on the day of the game.

The fundraising fixture is for Telford-based Manchester United fan Jamie Turner, who still requires hospital treatment after being attacked almost a year ago before United's match at Southampton (details can be found at http://www.fc-utd.co.uk/feature.php?feature_id=55 ), but many fans keen to support the worthy cause may not be able to attend if they don't get round to buying a ticket beforehand and there is no facility to pay on the gate.

Quite why the match should be made all ticket is anyone's guess, especially as it's highly unlikely to be a sell out; few – if any – of Telford's games this season have previously been all ticket; and there is no history of any trouble with FC United supporters.
