PLAYING CATCH UP

Ruud van Nistelrooy has a few excuses for United's poor season.

"In the beginning of the season we were missing five or six players and we were playing catch-up because of that.

"The way Chelsea took off it was getting more and more difficult. Next season will be different especially with the squad we have.

"When we lost to Milan we were also missing too many players."

No hands up and admitting we were predictable and boring then.
