The Sunday Telegraph reports:
‘The Sunday Telegraph has also learnt of an elaborate and bizarre dirty tricks campaign perpetrated by the club's fans against Glazer's advisers, including JP Morgan and Brunswick, the leading PR firm.
’Both firms have been bombarded with offensive e-mails from militant fans, who on Friday arranged for spurious taxis, pizzas, plumbers and sandwich delivery men to appear at Brunswick's London offices.
’In the early hours of yesterday morning the partner on duty at the PR firm was inundated with calls to his mobile from irate fans. Some of the callers used language of an offensive nature.
’A Man Utd fan also told The Sunday Telegraph that an advert offering cheap caravan holidays has been placed in a magazine listing Brunswick's number. A partner at the firm refused to confirm or deny this, but admitted that in a separate sting it had taken delivery of a large skip.
’Oliver Houston, the vice chairman of Shareholders United, a supporter group, said the campaign was coming from fans everywhere and was not down to one particular group. "This is not something that we have had to co-ordinate. These are spontaneous acts: fans want to do something," he said.
’"Brunswick and Malcolm Glazer don't appreciate what they have taken on. And this is only week one. Our fans are beginning to sniff out clients of Brunswick and JP Morgan," he said.
’Shareholders United says it will publish Brunswick's corporate client list on its website and will encourage fans to boycott them.’
