Phil Neville, "I came away from the game against Tottenham and thought that you probably needed video evidence to conclude that it was a goal. The use of video replays in games has been talked about a lot recently, and perhaps in certain situations it could be used. But I just think the naked eye generates the best spectacle.
"Sometimes in football you just have to take these decisions. Tottenham felt aggrieved that they didn’t get the goal, but occasionally the naked eye gets these decisions wrong. The referee and the linesman in particular, got the decision wrong. We benefited from that, but in the past there are instances where we haven’t benefited from a refereeing mistake. I think that these decisions even themselves out over the season.
"It was one of those incidents where the team the decision goes against are going to feel hard done by. Spurs haven’t won at Old Trafford for a long time and will look at it and think they should have gone back with all three points. We are the lucky ones in that respect because the decision went for us."
