The PFA Players' Player of the Year is an annual award given to the player who is adjudged to have been the best of the year across all the professional leagues in England. There has been no shortage of worthy contenders, however six names have now been short-listed as stand-out performers this season.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has been short-listed for the PFA Players' Player of the Year award due to his impressive performances in the heart of midfield this season.

The midfield maestro in Manchester, Carrick's performances have only been truly recognized this season in Manchester United's quest for their 20th Premier League trophy.

Often praised by the camp inside Old Trafford, Carrick has earnt the respect of his colleagues with his induction into the PFA Player's Player of the Year award short-list.
