Paul Pogba has revealed how Jose Mourinho's response to an injury he suffered in 2017 led to the breakdown of the pair's relationship.
Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United in December 2018, with his rapport with Pogba often under immense scrutiny despite a positive start which brought Europa League and League Cup success.
Pogba started the 2017/18 season well, racking up two goals and two assists in his first four Premier League games before going down with a nasty thigh injury which kept him sidelined for two months, and the midfielder has now revealed how this issue turned things sour.
"It started when I got injured,” he said in his new Amazon Prime documentary, Pogmentary. "I said I was going to Miami to do rehabilitation. A paparazzi took a photo of Zulay [Pogba's partner] and me.
“Jose sent the picture to Mino [Raiola]. I didn’t like that at all. He said he’s on holiday when we are working like [EXPLETIVE].
"I told Mourinho, 'are you serious? I’m injured. I train three times a day here. Who do you think I am?'
"It was new to me to have an issue with my coach.”
Pogba has not held back in his new documentary, also taking a swipe at United for failing to offer him a new contract sooner.
Having now left the club on a free transfer, Pogba is now set to join Juventus for the second time in his career.
