(to Istanbul). If they don't back me, I resign tomorrow.'
"I was completely relaxed because I knew I had done the
right thing. If the FA had changed their mind because of the
pressure being put on them, the position was untenable. I
would have lost credibility. I would have been a lame duck.
I don't want to open old wounds, but the decision was the
right one."
