O'PIE'S AT THE WHEEL

John O'Pie believes defeat in Copenhagen has brought some excitement back to the match at Parkhead.

"The Celtic game is a great one to look forward to now," said O'Pie.

"People were saying our match against them would be immaterial but the way the other results have panned out it is going to be an exciting game now.

"The defeat (to Copenhagen) was disappointing but we must continue to look forward because we are still in the driving seat."

He also used Ferguson's excuse of blaming the pitch for his missed shot during the match.

"Before the game, myself and Michael Carrick had been told to take turns getting into the box, so I just took a gamble,"

"It was a great ball in from Wayne and I got to it really well. I wanted to take a touch but you couldn't really trust the pitch, so I went for it first time. The contact was okay but unfortunately it went past the post."

Michael Carrick also thinks United can get the point needed to qualify in Glasgow.

"I suppose it was always going to be a huge game, but now there is a lot riding on the game," Carrick told Sky Sports News.

"They've got a tremendous record at home in Europe and it's going to be a tough game.

"We believe we can go places like that and win the game. It's going to be an exciting game for sure.

"We've always been confident and we are still in a great position. It's down to us, it's in our own hands.
