“He has jumped into a high level quickly and things are just too much for him. He had a fantastic first half of the season but it is a shame that now, when things are critical, he should make an error like that.
“Tim pushed the ball out to a forward when he should have got it round the post. That is an absolute tragedy for United. You have to be disappointed with the reaction of the defence in following up but that was a standard situation for Tim to deal with.
“He needed to give it a good punch or put it round the post — and he did neither. He seemed to be off balance and the ball may have swerved
but, even given that, he should have got it out of danger.”
