'Ryan Giggs will become the first Premiership player to make 400 appearances for the same club if he plays some part in Sunday's Manchester derby.
The Welsh winger has been working his own brand of magic on the Premiership pitches since the inaugural season of 1992/93 and alongside Southampton's Jason Dodd is the only player to have appeared in every Premiership campaign for the same club. Only Giggs' old international skipper, Gary Speed (440 games), has pulled on a Premiership jersey more frequently than United's number 11. But at four years Speed's junior, Giggs will have every opportunity to claim the Premiership appearance record for himself should he remain at Old Trafford in the forthcoming seasons.'
