Daily Mail are reporting that Andres Iniesta's row with Barcelona over a new contract is shoving him on to Manchester United's radar.
Since his arrival at Old Trafford, David Moyes has attempted several big name moves, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Cesc Fabregas linked to the reigning Premier League champions. Today, it is being thought that the Red Devils may do the unthinkable and approach Barcelona over the availability of their talismanic midfielder.
Iniesta has been a part of arguably the greatest footballing side ever assembled, and has won every honour imaginable with both club and country. Alongside midfield partner, Xavi, and the world's best player, Lionel Messi, and under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola brought unprecedented success to the Catalan club over the past decade, becoming one of the most admired footballers on the planet in the process. The 29-year old is part of an elite group of Barcelona players who look intent on spending their whole careers at the Nou Camp, however, contract negotiations between club and player have taken a turn.
The Spanish international, whose goal in the 2010 World Cup final won the World Cup, is in a dispute with the Catalans over the terms of a new deal, with his current one set to expire in 2015.
United are watching with great interest, but some sources do feel that Iniesta is a Paul Scholes type personality, that will not leave his boyhood club, unless he feels the terms of his new deal accurately reflect his status in football's equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters
