In an interview with Norwegian paper Aftenposten United striker Ole Gunnar
Solskjaer talks about his role at united.
NORWAY'S GREATEST
"Last year I played in most of the matches from December through the rest of
the season," Solskjaer told newspaper Aftenposten in an interview at club
headquarters in Manchester, England. "That was a big step forward for me."
"This year, I hope to contribute steadily through the entire season, and that
demands a lot." Solskjaer and his teammates are determined to sail into the
Champions League.
"Every day is a joy," Solskjaer says convincingly. Even when he occasionally
has to sit on the bench? "Yeah!" comes the enthusiastic reply. "I never sit
down and give up just because I'm a reserve."
Solskjaer, 29, has scored 100 goals in the course of 249 matches, yet he
remains characteristically modest.
"I took a step forward, but it doesn't help much if we don't win," he says
matter-of-factly. "You don't win anything alone in soccer."
"My personal goal for the season is to be a better player," he says. "Then I
reckon I will have contributed to boosting us to the top of the tables."
