The 24 year old has admitted that it's not easy at Old Trafford trying to keep down a regular first team place but he is up for the challenge, squashing rumours that he is on his way out of the club in the summer.
It's fair to say that since he made the big money move from Porto in 2007, he has struggled at times with his form and his fitness, but he now believes that he can get himself sorted to help United home in on their 20th league title.
He told reporters: "Everyone knows I'm happy at the club. I've had a lot of injuries but I've never let the smile go from my face.
"I try to help the team all the time. This is me. When I want to leave I will have to talk to the boss first. I don't [want to leave].
"I've had some serious injuries. No player wants to be injured. But now I've changed a little bit. I've trained very hard and am doing my best for the team."
