Ferguson has told Manchester United Radio that he expects Ryan Giggs to be available for selection soon: "It is the first time Ryan has ever suffered a hamstring injury in his right leg, so we are hoping it won't take too long to heal.

"It was absolute agony to lose him. He has been the leader of the team in many ways.

"To lose him so early is a blow to us. His form has been absolutely outstanding."
