The MEN reports:
‘SALFORD Reds have ruled out the proposed FC United using their stadium for matches. Many Manchester United fans, opposed to Malcolm Glazer's takeover at Old Trafford, are refusing to renew their season tickets.
‘Instead they are intending to form a breakaway non-League club with the Willows one of the venues mooted as their base. However, Salford state they have no interest in pursuing a relationship with FC United.
‘The rugby league club are forging ahead with plans to build a new stadium facility at Barton, and in the meantime concentrating all efforts on enhancing their engage Super League status. Chief executive David Tarry added: "We have no intention of entering into discussions with other sports clubs."’
