Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Gabriel Heinze stands a chance of being fit for the cup final after he returned to light training.
The 27-year-old is jogging again and has a chance of facing Arsenal in the Cardiff showdown on 21 May.
"Gaby has been a real warrior for us this season," said Ferguson. “He deserves to play in the final and I really hope we can get him there."
Like from a passage of Pisstake Peg, Giggs says “we have to get better as a team”.
"We have dropped 18 points so far against the bottom eight teams. That is just not good enough.
"Our results against the better teams prove the quality is there, what we have lacked is consistency.
"It was the same last season and we cannot let it happen again.
"Chelsea have raised the bar and we will have to improve if we are going to get the championship back.”
From the Mirror:
AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti last night taunted Liverpool ahead of the Champions League Final:
"Liverpool are a horrible team to play against. They are also a side that can spring surprises.
"Against Juventus and Chelsea they ran the games exactly as they wanted, giving away very little and exploiting their chances.
"They are highly organised in defence, and I am certain that they will try to cast a cloud over our attacking intentions.
"We will need to prepare well, and to retain our composure. But I am confident.”
From the Mirror:
England's controversy-plagued tour to the USA descended into further disrepute last night as it emerged the final fixture will be a WARM-UP match for an American league game.
Sven Goran Eriksson's side finish off their season against Colombia at Giants Stadium in New York on May 31, following their game with the USA in Chicago three days earlier.
But as the FA moved to head off the growing criticism of the value of the tour, it became clear that the Colombia game will be the curtain-raiser for the main event of the evening, a Major League Soccer clash between the New York/New Jersey Metro-stars and Chicago Fire.
It means that as soon as the England match finishes at around 6pm local time, David Beckham, Michael Owen and Rio Ferdinand will be rushed off the pitch to make room for such global heroes as former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Youri Djorkaeff and Coventry flop Ivan Guerrero.
Adrian Bevington, director of communications for the FA, confirmed last night that Eriksson's team are not the main event of the night as he said: "England are the magnet to attract a bigger crowd."
