NEW CONTRACT RUMOURED FOR KEANE

Manchester United are rumoured to be ready to offer Roy Keane a coaching role at Old Trafford.

Newspaper reports claim the Republic of Ireland international, out of action with a broken foot, is due to have talks with United officials in December over his future role.

Scholes on Keane’s injury:

"It's disastrous for us. "He's a massive player and we'll miss him, but it gives us the opportunity to bring in other players to do what he does.

"He's so calm on the ball, and always available when you need him," said Scholes, who is yet to open his goalscoring account this season.

"He puts so many tackles and headers in and wins everything. You need him breaking up stuff and bringing his quality of play.”
