NEVILLE'S THE MAN
On Neville's return:
"Gary is very vocal and a few of the lads that don't spend every day with him are finding that out this week in training!
"It's good to have him back because he's a good player. He is a very good organiser and good talker but, like I said, he is a footballer and deserves to be in the team. We had a great team spirit in the summer and Gary would have just added to that."
Meanwhile Becks insists it's time for Ingerlund to deliver:
"We've talked for too long about going out and winning competitions.
"We've said in the past we can win this or win that. But we never have done. Well, now we've got to go out and do it. And it all starts on Saturday.
"The aim is to give the fans a bit more than just reaching the quarter-finals, getting them all excited and then suffering another down period.
"The supporters deserve more than that and the aim now has to be to actually win something.
"I really believed we were good enough to go all the way at the World Cup.
"That's the sort of belief I have in the players in this squad. And I still think this team can go all the way in a major competition.
"We haven't even mentioned the World Cup since we got together this week but, deep down, we all know it was a great opportunity missed.
"Now we have to look to the future because we've got some big games and another big event coming up and we have to be ready for it.
"I'm pretty well back to my best shape again. It would have been nice to go to the World Cup a 100 per cent fit but that wasn't possible. At least I reached a level where I wasn't letting anyone down.
"We're all two months into the season now and feeling a lot sharper. Michael Owen is scoring goals again after a so-called crisis and is playing as well as ever."
Beckham's major concern in recent weeks has been catching up on his sleep following the birth of his second son:
"Romeo sleeps a bit better than Brooklyn used to so it's not been too bad. I share the feeding and nappy duties. I do the seven o'clock shift!"
