Speaking on MUTV, Gary Neville said:
"It hurts when you are criticised and it certainly hurts
when people turn round and say you haven't got the desire
and hunger to win football matches anymore. We have proved
that eight times in 11 seasons. Every time we have lost the
championship we keep coming back the year after to win it,
but even then people continue to doubt us. That is the way
it has been all season.
“They seem to have been disrespectful at times but when Roy
Keane lifts that trophy on Sunday afternoon it will give out
more of a message than any player can."
Gary Neville joined Ryan Giggs in praising the Arsenal side
as the best we have beaten to win a Championship in his time
at the club:
"The team we were up against will be recognised by
Manchester United supporters as a great team, better than
the Newcastle team we clawed back against in 1996 when I
took part in my first championship campaign and probably
equal to the team Arsenal had in 1998. For them to be so
many points ahead of us and be so confident and for us to
claw back and win it with a week to go was an incredible
achievement."
