MOURINHO HAS A JOB TO DO

From The Telegraph:

‘The Chelsea manager did those maths six weeks ago but even in his mind there must be doubts. One more slip-up, one more draw and the race with Manchester United will become very real. Mourinho knows that his team are still strong favourites to retain their title and that games will run out quickly for Manchester United. But he will know, too, that the press will have a field day should his team throw away a lead that less than a month ago was 18 points.

That is unprecedented in the Premiership. Newcastle have never really recovered from losing a 12-point lead to United 10 years ago.

Manchester
United themselves lost a 13-point advantage to Arsenal in 1998, though Arsenal always had games in hand. But for it to happen to a team who only a few weeks ago looked invincible would be extraordinary.

The smart money is still on Chelsea but there will be doubts creeping into the minds of their players. They will not feel unassailable, as they once did, and they will know what Sir Alex Ferguson will be thinking; if he is confident that Manchester United can win at Stamford Bridge at the end of the month, then the gap, in effect, is four points.'
