Rooney:
"There was a feeling of relief.
"It was a brilliant feeling when the ball hit the back of the net.
"There has been a lot of talk over the last few weeks that I couldn't do it anymore so I'm really pleased to be back among the goals and playing well again."
Saha:
"This is not an attack on anyone at all, but we are definitely playing more together this season.
"It's down to the maturity we may have been lacking previously. People like Ronaldo and Rooney have really come of age and the return of Paul Scholes has also been crucial.
"I'm not going to be hypocritical because I was disappointed when Ruud went. He scored 30 goals a season for us and he was someone I really liked, but we have found a way of playing this season that is enabling us to get the results we need. We are scoring goals from all parts of the pitch."
Ferguson:
"Once he scored, you could just see him relax and get more confident.
"I was hoping every ball would land at his feet after that. It was terrific.
"The second was a side-footer to the corner but the third was a great one.
"As he was going through he just took a touch which killed the pace of the ball.
"I am pleased he got off the mark because the longer these things go on for strikers, the more they start to doubt themselves.
"Strikers are all the same, as soon as they score their confidence goes up. Once he got the first, you knew there was more to come."
More:
"There is a growing confidence in the club. We are looking strong as a group, it doesn't matter who is playing at the moment.
"They are all in it together, there is a great team spirit and through that we can really look forward.
"I hope we are going head-to-head with Chelsea. I do not mind if it is a two-horse race as long as we win it.
"The first 25 minutes was our best performance in two or three years.
"The penetration and chances we created was absolutely superb against a very good Bolton team.
"Once we scored the second we eased a little bit but nonetheless, we could have been four or five up in the opening half hour."
Gary Speed:
"We could have played the greatest game we had ever played, and still not beaten them.
"I have played against some great teams in the past, but nothing like that.
"Wayne has been a great player since he was 17. He is a natural.
"He knows when to pass it, he knows when to do a bit.
"Wayne also knows where to run and where to go.
"He is a fantastic player and brings more to United than just goals.
"People have gone on about him not scoring but he makes chances for other players.
"This time he got a hat-trick against us and deservedly so."
Fat Sam:
"Carrick's ball for their first goal was inch perfect.
"As soon as he hit it I didn't think it would cause us any problems unless it was inch perfect. Unfortunately for us, it was, and Rooney didn't even have to check his stride.
"Then you look at Vidic," he added. "Now he has been given time to adjust to the Premiership he looks outstanding, and Evra as well. People were questioning those players last season but Sir Alex gives them time, he's patient, and now they have added to a very good squad. I think United are the team to go toe to toe with Chelsea this season, but keeping the players in the flair positions fit will be important."
