More from his book:
When we played United at Bramall Lane last season, he came into my office, picked up the TV remote control and went straight on to the racing channel.
It got to twenty past two so I nipped into our dressing room to do a few bits and bobs. When I went back to my office, Alex was still there.
It was twenty-five to three and I was getting a bit edgy.
"I'm sorry Alex," I said, "but I'm going to have to ask you to f*** off now if you don't mind.
"If I'd got Ronaldo, Rooney and Giggs in my starting eleven, I'd be in here until three o'clock too. But I've got to go and motivate my lot next door, so can you f*** off and let me have a few minutes?"
So Alex jumped up from his chair and off he went with a smile.
