"I never called the fans stupid. What I wanted to make clear is that not everyone who goes to a football ground understands football. But, incredibly, they still criticise the systems and the work of specialists.
"However, I would also say that, as coaches, we do get it wrong a lot of the time.
"But some of the criticism doesn't make sense. For example, when it comes to which formation we should use - teams can win with 4-4-2 and teams can lose with 4-4-2.
"What matters is putting the ball in the back of the net. If you can't do that then all the planning and tactics count for nothing."
