Arsewipe:
"Frankly no. I always try to think whether this or that has any importance for the game.
"No matter what you say, what you do on Sunday is important, but not what you say before the game.
"I don't know whether the remarks he makes about us are done on purpose or because he's upset by us.
"But when the game starts, it's all down to how well you are organised, how well you pass the ball and how much you want to win the game.
"But when you are more experienced, you take the right distance from what is said about you.
"That doesn't mean you don't listen to what people say, but you can make a difference between what is important or not.
"No matter what happens before the game with the opposing manager, my motivation is to focus on what is important - and that means the quality of our game."
Wenger reiterated his call for both managers to scale down their public comments ahead of such a high-profile game.
"There's a big responsibility on both managers to keep the game fair and a real football game," he stressed.
"I like to feel that every manager loves football and therefore you make sure it will be a football game. You cannot incite people to do silly things.
"But I can only master my behaviour and be responsible for my attitude. He is responsible for his and he knows that."
Wenger made it clear that, rather than trying to goad his players into action with bold statements, his main goal was to ensure that they realised their potential at Old Trafford.
"I don't want to win a war, I want to win football games. Football is not war, it is a mixture.
"You have to be up for it but you have to be relaxed. If you're not relaxed, then you can't play well.
"You don't have to motivate players before a game like this. The most difficult thing is not motivating them, it's getting them relaxed enough to express their talent.
"Who doesn't want to be a star? Once you're there, the problem is not wanting to do it but being capable of doing it."
"In my opinion, yes. In 120 years' history of football, nobody else has done this, so you can't say we're a small team.
"The enemy in football is a lack of confidence. This run gives us belief to win each game as you have the experience of winning.
"But contrary to what people could think, we never feel that we will never lose. We just feel that if we put in what is needed, we can win."
