Fergie, "I think we might have been a bit fortunate with the penalty, but football is funny that way. We got a break today, but at Wembley last week we were denied a penalty. We had been too casual in the first half. We played into Spurs' hands and deserved to be behind, but once we got the first goal we were electric. Carlos Tevez was responsible for the extra energy in the second half, but Wayne Rooney was fantastic. The energy and drive the boy's got is amazing."

Rooney, "It was an important win because it means another game has gone and we are still at the top with a bit of a margin. That's exactly what we wanted from the game. We've got five games left and it's ours to throw away.

"It was a brilliant comeback. The first half was too slow and we had to quicken up. We knew once we got that first goal we'd have a chance and in the end it was quite comfortable."

Ronaldo, "We knew if we scored one goal we could score three or four. Winning in such a way will give us great heart for the games to come."

Jermaine Jenas, "I think it was a case of a referee crumbling under the pressure at Old Trafford really. The atmosphere, the occasion, the importance of the match, a lot of factors take their toll when making decisions. One thing which struck me about it was that he didn't even think. It was like he'd already made his mind up when he came out for the second half that he was going to give something.

"I think he will definitely admit he got that one wrong. It was a very important moment in the season."

Harry Redknapp, "He's got a hand on the ball - it was a terrible decision. It was a gift that United didn't deserve and it put them back in the game. Without that bit of help from the ref, I don't think United would have come back. If [Webb's] the best referee in the country, I wouldn't like to see the worst one. Once again, we've been the victims of a poor decision that has changed the course of a game."
