Ferguson:
"Boro made it difficult for us, they came back well to make it 1-1.
"We expect to start the game with a lot of quality and enthusiasm, and usually when we do that the game becomes easier. That was not the case today.
"But we regained out composure, first touch and movement and we started to control things and deserved the win.
"'For weeks we were only scoring one, now it is four.
"It's an amazing sequence. [Four goals in each of the last four matches]
"We were winning 1-0 earlier in the season, now we are scoring four goals in every game."
On the Rooney/Tevez move:
"It needed quick thinking, great vision and courage.
"Wayne was in the box and he could have taken a touch. But he knows Carlos is making the run and the back-heel puts him in.
"Wayne and Carlos are doing fantastically well together.
"They will mature and develop as experienced players. When they do that, hopefully we will see the complete partnership."
About Nani:
"Nani only deals in thunderbolts.
"He is coming along nicely for us now and he had a great impact today.
"I thought it would be refreshing to use him today instead of Ryan Giggs. I've got next Saturday to think about but Nani came on and had a good impact."
Rooney:
"It's not the sort of thing you can practice.
"The moment Carlos gave me the ball I could see him out of the corner of my eye starting his run. He's a clever player.
"It is an honour to play for this team. Some of the football is brilliant. It's the type I like to play.
"Nani came in today and did really well. His goal was a great strike - it bent and dipped all over the place."
Gareth Southgate:
"We wanted to come here and have a go. We scored and created a couple of good chances.
"Today was a shot to nothing. In the end their class told. But for a long time in the first half it was tight.
"We had a very young side and sometimes mistakes will happen. But our young players were outstanding today and they are a shining light.
"It was a healthier performance than last week, but United are a class side and in the end they were too good for us."
