Ferguson:
"That's another game out of the road and just five to go. All the games are cup finals and the players are showing great temperament.
"It doesn't matter what team I play, they're all up for it. They've a resilience and a great team spirit about them.
"It was a professional job and in the second half we just ran the clock down a bit.
"We saved our legs well and I think that was a sensible thing to do. The performance was economical and we didn't kill ourselves, which was important."
Evra injury/ other injuries:
"He got a bad tackle and we'll send him for a scan in the morning and see the extent.
"But yes, he got a bad tackle.
"Rio and John will be back on Saturday, so that should give us a bit more strength and experience in the back line.
"We ended up with two full-backs (Darren Fletcher and Kieran Richardson) who are midfield players. It was a great challenge for them but they came through it well."
About Rooney's 25 goal target:
"He promised me he would get 25.
"Maybe I am going to get the money back I lost to Cristiano."
On Saha's likely return date:
"Louis, "I just don't know."
Giggs:
"Sheffield United came with a gameplan - to get men behind the ball - and the early goal sort of killed it.
"But we didn't play as well as we have been doing and 1-0 is always a dodgy scoreline, so we're pleased to get the second goal.
"It was a bit frustrating but this is an important part of the season.
"We've been lucky for the last three or four games to score a lot of goals.
"It's not going to be like that all time - sometimes 1-0 or 2-0 is a great scoreline.
"It's about getting results, we've done it tonight and we've got to do it on Saturday.
"We'd take 1-0 right now because we're not going to score four or five every game - as long as the lads do the job at the back we should be okay.
"The games are coming thick and fast now but winning helps the tiredness part.
"We are not doing much training anyway; just ticking over really, so as long as we get enough rest and prepare properly, we should be okay.
"In any case, you want to be part of big games and in three competitions at this stage of the season.
"We have not managed that in the last couple of years, so it is great to be in this position.
"It is going to be tougher this time.
"In 1999 we played two cup semi-finals against Arsenal but because we had almost a full squad available, we put out two different teams.
"We have had a few injuries lately but it looks like we have a few lads coming back, which will be a big plus.
"Also, because we have won a few games by reasonably big scorelines recently, the manager has been able to bring players off early and give a few of us a rest."
Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock:
"Everybody who has seen it said it was a penalty.
"I have spoken to Rob and he said he couldn't be 100% sure. I asked him why he didn't ask the linesman and he told me he didn't want him involved.
"I will have to seek clarification on that because I don't understand it."
"I'm not surprised. It was a penalty and then it was a sending off.
"He has to give the decision and upset Sir Alex and 75,000 people and I know people don't like upsetting Sir Alex."
