Ferguson:
"Without question, this was one of our best performances of the season.
"We were too powerful for Blackburn. The only thing we have to do is keep our nerve. Are we playing like champions? I think so. You expect a championship team to show the determination, drive and resolve we showed here.
"The intensity of our game was fantastic but so was the support - that put us over the line.
"The players were all talking about it in the dressing room - they couldn't believe the volume of noise.
"The great thing we showed was the composure to not lose our heads, keep our nerve and keep on playing and by doing that we kept on making chances."
Title chances:
"I don't care when we win it, winning it is the most important thing.
"It doesn't matter when or how. I would take goal difference right at this very moment even though it would create a few heart attacks along the way."
Rooney form:
"I don't see the burden he has been carrying as a problem but you cannot put all the responsibility for attacking onto one player.
"The England team has not been playing well. I think they would all hold their hands up on that one.
"But Wayne is still young. He is as strong as a bull and his enthusiasm is always there.
"He is back with us now. We are trying to help him and knowing the players you are playing with always helps."
Vidic injury:
"We will try to get Nemanja back as quickly as we can.
"We think it's a four or five week job.
"It's a shoulder injury. We don't know the full extent now, we'll maybe know more tomorrow morning.
"As I have been saying for a while now, the most important thing for us now is for the bench to prove itself.
"We have a few alternatives available to us and I will be looking at the best way to use them."
Carrick:
"Their goal was a bit scrappy from our point of view.
"I was at full stretch, I had to go for the ball and it's just come off Edwin and suddenly you're 1-0 down.
"You think 'here we go', but we stuck at it and in the second half we played some great stuff. Obviously we thoroughly deserved to win the game but it was nice to score a few goals as well."
The summer signing from Tottenham was happy with the Reds' patience and faith that their fine play would eventually reap tangible dividends.
"We were playing so well, and when you're playing like that you don't want opportunities to slip by. So we were really determined to get three points and I think that showed the way we played second half.
"He was on fire, Brad [Friedel], and sometimes you think 'is this their day?'. But we stuck at it and kept playing the way we can play.
Hughes:
"I think they'll go on and win the title comfortably now. They deserve to. They have played the best football all season - the most expansive game.
"The reason United are champions elect is that they are able to galvanize themselves and go again after falling behind, as they did here. We gave them a game in the first half, but in the second they weren't to be denied."
The Scholes goal:
"I have seen Paul do that so many times.
"He has such a cool head in those situations and such great technical ability once he got into position, there wasn't much doubt about where the ball was going to end up."
