BBC:

Cristiano Ronaldo could return for Manchester United in place of Ryan Giggs after his suspension.

But Mikael Silvestre (thigh) is again unlikely to be available, while Wes Brown (groin) and Paul Scholes (virus) should be fit in time.

Birmingham: Maik Taylor, Vaesen, Johnson, Martin Taylor, Cunningham, Upson, Painter, Pennant, Dunn, Jarosik, Butt, Clemence, Heskey, Pandiani, Forssell, Clapham, Kilkenny, Lazaridis.

United (from): Van der Sar, Howard, Neville, Bardsley, Brown, Ferdinand, O'Shea, Richardson, Ronaldo, Park, Fletcher, Smith, Scholes, Giggs, Van Nistelrooy, Saha, Rooney, Rossi.

Fergie:

"It's all very well having a big squad with nearly everybody fit but you still have to pick the right team to win matches. We are looking to send out a line-up who can do the job against Birmingham, while keeping an eye on the games that follow."

"Steve [Bruce] has had so many injuries that he didn't have his strongest team out, so you're going to see two different teams when we play Birmingham."

Ferdinand:

"Birmingham is a hard place to go to.

"The fans get right behind their team, and I'm sure they'll be wanting to rectify the result from last time.

"It'll be a tough game but hopefully we can get the three points. We've got to maintain our form... then we'll have a good chance if any slip-ups do happen.

"We cannot afford to slip up because Chelsea are relentless. But we can still win all three domestic trophies and that is what we must be aiming at."

Steve Bruce:

"We've got a nice easy run now - Manchester United and then Chelsea. We've got to play these teams and from what I witnessed at Tottenham there was nothing wrong with the players' spirit, attitude and commitment.

"We had been questioning ourselves after the Manchester City debacle but it was much, much better at Tottenham and if we continue like that we should get the rub of the green.

"We're all under pressure - if that's the right word. Pressure is when you struggle to feed your kids but we have to accept it for what it is."

Weather:

According to the BBC weather site, the temparature in Birmingham should be a tropical -5°C at 6pm with 'Fog'. By 9pm it should be a balmy -6°C but clear. Lovely.
