Manchester United predicted lineup vs Liverpool - Premier League

The flame of England's biggest rivalry will be reignited on Tuesday night, as Manchester United travel to old foe Liverpool for a heavyweight Premier League clash.

Ralf Rangnick's side is fresh from an exciting 3-2 victory over Norwich at the weekend, in which Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick earned the Red Devils a much-needed three points. That win makes it just two in their last six Premier League outings, though, leaving them on the back foot in the race for Champions League qualification.

Making it three wins in seven looks unlikely, too, as they come up against a Liverpool side in its pomp and realistically gunning for a quadruple. Here's how United could shape up...

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

David de Gea (GK) - No clean sheet for nearly two months, but that tells you far from the full story of the Spaniard's season.

Diogo Dalot (RB) -
Seems to have once again displaced Aaron Wan-Bissaka from the starting XI - some accomplishment...

Victor Lindelof (CB) -
Was far from decent last time out but, with Rafael Varane still out of contention, he should continue at the heart of defence.

Harry Maguire (CB) - Really doesn't help himself with some utterly calamitous bits of play that seem to come week in, week out - but he'll obviously skipper this great club once again.

Alex Telles (LB) -
With Luke Shaw also likely to still be absent, Alex Telles should continue at left-back following his assist last time out.

2. Midfielders

Nemanja Matic (DM) - Fred and Scott McTominay look set to remain on the sidelines for this one, so Matic could be given the unenviable task of providing some solidity at the base of midfield having announced he's leaving the club.

Paul Pogba (CM) - Obviously not a lone, holding midfielder - and certainly not against Liverpool - so he could be pushed further upfield to supply the enigmatic creativity he's undoubtedly capable of.

Bruno Fernandes (CM) - Not in a rich vein of form by any stretch, but has consistently looked one of his side's most capable playmakers in the last couple of months - no, that's not a dig.

3. Forwards

Anthony Elanga (RW) - Seems to have firmly established himself in the side, now, and is in line for a sixth Premier League start in nine outings.

Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) - If he can score hat-tricks, who cares if he's utterly absent for the overwhelming majority of football matches?

Jadon Sancho (LW) - No goal involvement in his last three league appearances but, following a positive showing against Norwich last time out, should be set to continue in the side.
