Manchester United predicted lineup vs Leeds United - Premier League

Manchester United travel away to Leeds United in the Premier League for an eagerly anticipated clash of rivals on Sunday afternoon.

In the week of Groundhog Day fittingly enough, Ralf Rangnick's side recorded the first in a series of increasingly tedious and repetitive 1-1 draws which saw them squander first-half leads.

Having broken the streak in midweek at home to Brighton, here's the XI Rangnick may deploy to fully quash that pattern as they travel to an Elland Road with fans for the first time since 2011.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

David de Gea (GK) - Dave the Save may be living up to his billing with a sensational individual campaign, but is facing the most shots on target per game of his 11-year long Premier League career (4.8).

Diogo Dalot (RB) - Injury and illness initially gave Dalot a slot ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka but the former first choice has watched the last three league games sat on the bench.

Victor Lindelof (CB) - With Raphael Varane's stomach problems causing some doubts over his availability, Rangnick may be best served turning to Lindelof rather than risking the Frenchman with a trip to Atletico Madrid next week.

Harry Maguire (CB) - In the process of confirming Maguire's continued status as captain, the brutally honest Rangnick didn't skirt the defender's 'weaker moments' recently.

Luke Shaw (LB) - Despite creating a commensurate quality and quantity of chances this season compared to last, Shaw is joining the attack less; going from two touches in the opposition box per game to less than one this term.

2. Midfielders

Scott McTominay (CM) - The only outfield player to have started as many as 12 of Rangnick's 14 matches at the helm.

Paul Pogba (CM) - Only two players in the division have created more goals than the World Cup winner this season (eight), but half of those assists came within 38 minutes against Leeds back in August.

Bruno Fernandes (AM) - Despite the general malaise cloaking every flicker of uncertainty in this Manchester United team, Fernandes has still created a division-high number of shooting opportunities for his teammates this season (per FBref).

3. Forwards

Marcus Rashford (RW) - On second thought, Rangnick may be best served bringing on his Member of the British Empire given he hasn't scored in a Premier League start since May, but has netted four from the bench this term.

Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) - The number seven was actually in the Manchester United starting XI that last travelled to Elland Road for a Premier League match in front of fans back in 2003.

Jadon Sancho (LW) - Back in August Sancho was only afforded 15 minutes against Leeds for his Manchester United debut. With two goals in his last four games, he is threatening to hit his best form since arriving.
