Manchester United host Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday, with increasingly frustrated fans demanding an improved performance and positive result from their team.
United could only draw against Burnley in their last game, which followed an embarrassing FA Cup exit at the hands of Middlesbrough only a few days earlier.
Ralf Rangnick has work to do behind the scenes if this squad is to start firing any time soon.
Here's a look at the starting XI the United boss could pick to face the Saints...
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
David de Gea (GK) - Only one clean sheet in his last seven Premier League appearances isn't really his fault.
Diogo Dalot (RB) - The right-back spot appears to be his to lose now after Aaron Wan-Bissaka only made it onto the bench after returning to fitness
Harry Maguire (CB) - The captain was the subject of much fan anger on social media over his performance against Burnley.
Raphael Varane (CB) - Fighting a one-man battle at the back with Maguire next to him. Deserves a better partner.
Luke Shaw (LB) - A lot of has been asked of him since returning from a recent injury, but with Alex Telles a Covid-19 doubt he could continue.
2. Midfielders
Scott McTominay (CM) - Important that he gives United a foothold and prevents Southampton from gaining confidence in the middle.
Paul Pogba (CM) - His quality on the ball makes a huge difference and he scored his first goal of the season last time out.
Bruno Fernandes (AM) - Needs to up his scoring rate because he has netted in only four Premier League games all season.
3. Forwards
Marcus Rashford (RW) - Started his first Premier League game since just after Christmas against Burnley.
Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) - Surprisingly let out in favour of the returning Edinson Cavani in midweek but expected to be back here.
Jadon Sancho (LW) - United are yet to see the best of him since his £73m summer transfer but consistent starts will get him there.
