LOOK INTO THE FUTURE

United’s official site lauds the mighty achievement of their slave over in Belgium. Apparently he scored twice, yes TWICE, for Antwerp in the strangely unheralded 2nd Division of the local league:

“Chinese striker Dong Fangzhou was instrumental in Royal Antwerp's resounding 4-1 win over league leaders Tubize on Sunday. The forward, who scored for United on the club's Asia Tour, notched a brace. His first goal was a clever finish following a weaving run, the second a long-range effort which wrong-footed the visiting goalkeeper.”

Liam Miller is reported to be concerned at the imminent competition for that cherished place in the reserves.

Meanwhile the Evening News reports on that keeper who couldn’t even get in Stoke’s squad:

Ben Foster admits he can't wait to work alongside Edwin Van der Sar when he returns to United.

The 22-year-old, who is on loan at Watford, is heading back to Carrington to train alongside the Dutch keeper, Tim Howard and goalkeeping coach Tony Coton.

“People always ask me if I got a lot of training in with them, but I didn't really because I was only there for two or three days before they went on the Asia Tour.

"Edwin's been on fire.

"I've watched him on telly and he's been pulling loads of saves out to be fair to him - that save from Andy Cole was unbelievable - so I'm looking forward to getting up to Manchester to do a bit of work with them all.”
