Last night the League Managers’ Association backed him in his battle. LMA vice-chairman Frank Clark promised:

“If Alex needs any help we will offer it. We do not like to see one of our own members being the victim of mud slinging. There is always concern within our association if one of our members is getting this sort of treatment.”
