LET'S GET GIDDY

Kevin Keegan must be just loving this. For the first time in the Premiership, this morning Manchester City supporters awake giddy and peering down from the summit. Early days these may be but heady days they most certainly are. With typical City timing Nicolas Anelka waited to three minutes from the end last night to propel the visitors to the top with a suitably jaw-dropping winner. Bursting on to David Sommeil's punt and beyond the dithering Lorenzo Amoruso, he glided along the goal-line and slipped his shot - ridiculously - through a stunned Brad Friedel's legs at the tightest of angles.
They will do well to enjoy it while it lasts. Portsmouth could usurp them tonight and Arsenal, potential leaders tomorrow night, are next up on Sunday.
"I've been at the top before," added the visiting manager. "It's staying there that's been the problem. Let's not get carried away."
