'Learning Curve'

Tevez on MUTV:

"I feel a wonderful amount of relief now to actually be here at Manchester United and I'm now getting myself prepared for the games that are coming up.

"It is a dream to wear the Manchester United shirt and it will also be a dream to win the title which we will all be working for this season.

"I feel like I have grown a lot, particularly with a year at West Ham. I think every different club in football you are with, be it in Italy, Spain or Brazil, you learn different things and you try to take things from each club.

"It is a huge learning curve but I feel I have grown as a player now I'm just getting ready to play for Manchester United.

"It's very important to be happy myself but also to be able to make the people who support Manchester United happy."

Tevez on Heinze:

"He told me there's a great family atmosphere here. It's amazing you can have a group of human beings who are all football stars but are so humble as well. United are a great team, and my family are massively proud, but I now have to write my own history at the club.''

The scout who says he spotted Tevez, Ramon Maddoni, says in the Sun:

"Carlos has worked hard to get where he is today and deserves to be at a great club. I'm sure Alex Ferguson will bring out the best in him.

"At Manchester United, Carlitos can become the best player in the world — he can be the biggest explosion in football since Diego Maradona!

"I have worked with many talented young players and one of Carlos' great virtues is his desire to be as good as he can be and never accept defeat. Carlitos has the ability to go as far as he wants.

"The heart and hunger he has for the game and desire he shows makes him stand apart. He has technique and is aggressive and has everything to be one of the greatest players.

"I remember when I first saw him. He was fearless in the way he played against older and bigger boys and wasn't bothered if they tried to kick him.

"I helped him develop but when a player has natural talent you only have to guide him for the talent to shine through. That's what will happen at Manchester United."
