LARRY WHITE?

Blanc interviewed on the official site:

"You can never get everyone behind you, but I had a lot of fans supporting
me. I didn't understand who they were singing about when they chanted about
Larry White, though. It was only towards the end of last season that someone
told me that they were singing about me! That was a nice touch from them."

Speaking about his desire for a Champions League medal:

"It's a dream, but a possible dream. I lost a big chance last year – the final of
the Champions League was within reach. But with that experience, I hope the
result can be better this year. It would be fantastic for the team, for the club
and for me. It's the best trophy you can win."

Comparing English football to Italian and Spanish:

"Each have their own culture, their own styles. English is the best to watch, it's
the most entertaining for the supporters. Italian football is the hardest to play
in – it's physically and tactically very hard. There's a lot of underhand tactics
going on. English is the most exciting, it's great for the supporters as if your
team is losing 2-0 they can still come back and win 3-2. That doesn't happen
in Italy. The Spanish League is good too, as it has invention and a little bit of
Italian tactics."

Memories of Old Trafford in 1991 with Montpellier:

"It was a great atmosphere, I remember that. The coach at the time had been
on a spying visit to Old Trafford a few days before the game and told us what
to expect. It was a good job, as the atmosphere was unbelievable after we fell
behind after three or four minutes. We knew we were in for a hell of a night
then. Lee Sharpe was doing all sorts of tricks down the left – I think he set up
the goal. We got back into the game at 1-1, and towards the end we had a
chance to win it. We played well on the counter-attack. We were missing five
or six players for the second leg through injury and suspension and we tried to
play for 0-0. But we gave away a stupid goal two or three minutes before half-
time to Clayton Blackmore."
