United's 5-0 defeat at West Brom on Tuesday evening meant that the Dutch keeper has not conceded a league goal for 1,032 minutes and in doing so broke the record held by Chelsea keeper Petr Cech of 1,025 minutes.
"I was watching the minutes tick away towards the end and even though you're a few goals up you still feel very nervous. When I saw the clock reach 85 minutes I started to get a good feeling," he told MUTV.
"It's been some performance from all the defenders who have played in those eleven games especially when you consider we didn't have a settled back four during those matches.
"We've had a lot of changes to deal with and a lot of players have contributed to the achievement. The fact that everyone has come in and done a job shows the strength of the squad.
"The most important thing is we got a good win.
"Scoring five times is also important for the goal difference and now the focus switches to Everton on Saturday.
"We're on top at the moment and long may that last."
