Nicky told BBC GMR that he can't wait for Roy Keane to get back and is not in the least worried about the threat to his place in the team.

"I am not worried about Roy coming back, he is our captain and leader. The sooner he gets back the better."

"When you get into the team you must take your chance to stay there. We have a big squad full of top-class players and if you don't perform you are out. I have been here a long time and it has been difficult on occasions but if I shied away from challenges I would have left a long time ago."

"I've supported United all my life. I'm a local lad and I can't think of anywhere else that I'd rather be. I've signed a long contract and hopefully I will be here when I retire."

St Nick has respect for Arsenal nevertheless he believes that United are more than capable of regaining the title.

"Arsenal are looking strong," said the 27-year-old. They are quick and are scoring a lot of goals but it's no surprise, they are a top class side. They won the title last year so it is up to us to take the trophy away from them."

"We have always had plenty of confidence in our own ability and now the injury situation is starting to ease, we are creating chances, scoring goals and not making silly mistakes, which is fairly important. Slowly we are starting to get our form back and once that happens we are a very difficult team to beat."
