From The Mirror:
Manchester United will reward the exploits of their Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy by doubling his current salary at Old Trafford.
Van Nistelrooy is barely 18 months into a lucrative five-year contract and although there are provisions in his current deal for a big rise in the summer, United want to tear up the current agreement and re-sign him to another five-year deal.
Although United splashed out £19million to capture the marksman from PSV Eindhoven, his wages are relatively poor compared to some of the big earners at the club.
His current pay is about £35,000 a week but over the last 12 months United have agreed £100,000-a-week deals for Roy Keane and David Beckham and about £70,000 a week for Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand.
