Juventus Readying Tahith Chong Contract Amid Uncertain Man Utd Future

Juventus are ready to offer Tahith Chong a lucrative deal to move to Serie A as the Manchester United midfielder's Old Trafford future remains uncertain, despite United confident the forward will commit long-tern.

Chong has just six months left to run on his current Red Devils deal and has yet to agree to new terms, having made just four Premier League appearances across the last two seasons.

The Dutchman is highly regarded by his current employers, having joined from Feyenoord in 2016 and initially linking up with the club's Under-18 squad. He has impressed the United coaching staff since doing so, gradually working his way into first-team contention and featuring heavily in the Europa League this season.

According to The Sun, however, Juventus are willing to offer the 20-year-old a route out of Old Trafford in favour of Serie A football with a lucrative deal.

I Bianconeri are willing to offer Chong a £35k-per-week deal if he decides to run down his remaining six months at United, as well as a £2m signing on fee if he chooses to link up with Maurizio Sarri's side in the summer. It is also mentioned in the report that Inter hold an interest in the winger, with Antonio Conte eager to add youth to his squad as he looks towards a long-term plan.

Despite the interest across Europe in Chong, United remain confident that the Dutchman will put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at the club. A club source told The Sun: “The club hasn’t given up hope. Tahith knows how highly we rate him. Juventus are apparently pushing quite hard, so it must be quite a difficult time for him.

“United have consistently shown that young players here don’t need to chase the money elsewhere. Juventus showed when they signed Paul Pogba that they know all about talent coming through here in England.”

With fixtures coming thick and fast for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, it is understood Chong will be given more first-team opportunities in a bid to both freshen the squad up and entice the 20-year-old to turn down any potential transfer.
