Forgotten striker David Bellion is prepared to wait for his opportunity to make an impression on the Manchester United first team.

The 22-year-old is expected to be given the chance before the end of the campaign, given Ruud van Nistelrooy's lack of form after returning from an Achilles injury.

"You still have confidence, even if he (Ferguson) doesn't say it. We don't need the manager to say something to be confident, you need to work hard and be patient.

"For the moment we have had one or two unlucky games in the first team but the team is still strong so we have to work hard and fight for our place.

"It does a lot of good playing in the last four games. You learn in the reserves and I'm happy to play. As long as you play 90 minutes you have to show what you can do. When you are on the fringe of the first team you want to play well all the time. When you play not as good you get a bit upset.

"As long as the team wins, I'm happy. The team is first, the club is first and then I work on my situation.”
