Of the 220 players named in Premiership starting line-ups at the weekend and listed in this SunSport special, 103 were British.
JOHNNY FOREIGNER TAKES OVER
Foreigners totalled 101 but their numbers were boosted by a further 16 from the Republic of Ireland.
But when the Premier League first kicked off 10 years ago, only 11 players were from outside Britain and Ireland.
PFA boss Gordon Taylor is warning clubs that they must strike the right balance between foreign imports and homegrown players in order to safeguard the future of the domestic game.
He said: "I would never have expected to see so many nationalities plying their trade here.
"It's a two-way process because a lot of the players who come in from abroad can vastly improve our youngsters.
"But I just hope that they don't block the way for the next generation of Steven Gerrards and Joe Coles.
"A lot of money is going out of the game to bring players in from abroad and clubs must strike the correct balance.
"We still have to produce players for World Cups and that's why we need youngsters to be given the chance to succeed.
"The more foreign players that come in, the harder it becomes for the youngsters to make the grade.
"But any youngster who does make the breakthrough can look at himself and see that he has done it despite the presence of the foreign players. It raises the bar and improves quality."
