"Sir Alex Ferguson and I have had a great relationship for years. He always tells me I should come and join him at United," said Lippi.
"He's half serious but going to English football is something I have always wanted to do.
"Sir Alex and I speak on the phone. We talk about football and other things. I think we are on the same wavelength.
"He is a great manager, a great person and a great friend. The move wouldn't be right now.
"I'm planning on staying at Juventus for another two or three years. But after that, who knows?
"I have said before that after I leave Juventus, I don't think I will manage in Italy ever again."
Ferguson of course steps down as manager at Old Traffford after another three seasons, which means a possible coaching role for Lippi before taking over the managerial hotseat.
